BD expresses concern over missile fire targeting Mecca

Bangladesh on Monday expressed deep concern at the reported missile attack by the Houthi targeting the holiest shrine of Islam in Mecca of Saudi Arabia.

Bangladesh strongly condemned such attacks on the very fundamental symbol of faith and unity of Muslim Ummah, the Foreign Ministry in Dhaka said in a statement on Monday, reports UNB.

The statement said Bangladesh reiterates its commitment to standing by the government and the people of Saudi Arabia to protect and secure the two holy mosques.    

The rebel Yemeni Houthi-Saleh group fired a ballistic missile fired from Yemen`s northwestern Saada province on Thursday night targeting Mecca city, home to the most sacred sites in Islam, including the Grand Mosque.
