Doreen Power most-traded issue

Doreen Power Generations and Systems dominated Monday the turnover chart of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) while Lafarge Surma Cement emerged as turnover leader on the port city bourse.

Five most-traded shares in terms of value on the premier bourse were Doreen Power, Confidence Cement, Shasha Denim, Brac Bank and Square Pharmaceuticals.

According to statistics available with the DSE, some 1.99 million shares of Doreen Power were traded, generating a turnover of Tk 281 million. It was 4.43 per cent of the DSE`s total turnover value.

The power generation company`s share price hovered between Tk 135 and Tk 144, before closing at Tk 141.80 on Monday, jumping 7.48 per cent over the previous day.

The board of directors of the company, which was listed in April this year on bourses, has recommended 10 per cent cash dividend for all shareholders excluding the sponsors/directors and 20 per cent stock dividend for all shareholders for the year ended on June 30, 2016.

The final approval will come during the annual general meeting (AGM) scheduled to be held on December 18. The record date is on November 13.

The company has also reported consolidated earnings per share (EPS) of Tk 0.64, consolidated net asset value (NAV) per share of Tk 34.34, and consolidated net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) of Tk 1.13 for the year ended on 30.06.

On the other hand, five most-traded stocks in terms of turnover value on the port city bourse were Lafarge Surma Cement, Square Pharmaceuticals, Doreen Power, Beacon Pharmaceuticals and Confidence Cement.

According to statistics available with the CSE, some 235,598 shares of Lafarge were traded, generating a turnover of Tk 18.33 million. The multinational cement maker`s share price fell 1.03 per cent to close at Tk 76.70 each on the port city bourse.

Square Pharma was the second on the CSE turnover list with 56,500 shares worth Tk 15.20 million changing hands. The company`s share closed at Tk 269.50 each, advancing 0.48 per cent.
