FBCCI delegates attend D-8 CCII meeting in Turkey

A business delegation of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), led by its president Abdul Matlub Ahmad attended the D-8 Chambers of Commerce and Industry Izmir (CCII) meeting in Turkey.


 The two-day CCII meeting held at Izmir ended on October 21, reports BSS citing a press release.

The Izmir meeting was organised to assess the areas of cooperation among the D-8 Countries to increase collaborations on different sectors, develop project partnerships and increase the export and import opportunities.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Matlub Ahmad emphasised on D-8 plus to increase the volume of trade and investment between the member countries.

He also urged the D-8 counterparts for technology transfer for the interest of the individual countries and the organisation as a whole.

Matlub Ahmad proposed the D-8 Countries to establish technology- based colleges in member countries which will be higher than the technology in the light of Izmir University of Economics.

The FBCCI Delegation also visited the Izmir University of Economics on 19 October, 2016.

D-8, also known as Developing-8 established in 1997, has an objective to improve the member states` position in the global economy, diversify and create new opportunities in trade relations, enhance participation in decision making at international level.
