Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith called upon Dutch businessmen and investors to make a visit to Bangladesh to explore business and investment opportunities in the country.
Muhit made the call while inaugurating a trade fair in Amsterdam city of the Netherlands recently. Dutch Bangla Chamber of Commerce & Industries (DBCCI) and Bangladesh embassy jointly organised the trade exposition "Dutch Bangla Expo 2016" at the famous RAI convention Centre.
Business and investment opportunities in Bangladesh were projected before the Dutch investors and business people at the programme.
Finance Minister Abul Mal Abdul Muhith inaugurated the two-day exposition on September 29 as the chief guest. Dutch Bangla Chamber of Commerce & Industries president Anwar Shawkat Afser presided over the opening ceremony.
Bangladesh ambassador to the Netherlands Sheikh Mohammed Belal, the Netherland government delegates, ambassadors from Saudi Arab, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates and other diplomats and business peoples from Bangladesh and the Netherlands were present on the occasion.
Readymade garments, leather, jute, ship building, water resources, agro, real estate, ICT and other different sectors from Bangladesh showcased their products and services in this fair.
A trade and investment seminar was also held in the event to highlight the business opportunities in Bangladesh. The exposition was sponsored by the Prime Minister`s Office (PMO) and Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) and supported by Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Dhaka.
Different organisations like BIDA, BEZA, PPPA also supported the event where 40 companies from Bangladesh participated.
