NBR collects Tk 14.17b at tax fair

National Board of Revenue (NBR) has collected Tk 14.17 billion worth income tax and over 638,000 people were given various tax related services during the past five days of the weeklong Income Tax Fair began in all divisional headquarters on November 1.

During the period, 1,21,131 people submitted their tax return.

The fair at NBR Bhaban in the Dhaka`s Agargaon area drew a huge number of visitors on Saturday, a weekend. There were large queues in front of all booths and tax officials were found busy in providing services to the people of different professions. The booth handling online return submission activities had to face the excessive rush of visitors Saturday, fair sources said.

The fair is also being held at all districts headquarters and 86 upazilas.

The NBR will also observe the National Income Tax Day on November 30, according to BSS.
