PPP prospects good: Muhith

Finance Minister AMA Muhith Thursday said the Public Private Partnership (PPP) prospects are good enough to fetch benefits for the investors.

"The door of investment under PPP is open . . . we have already started to get some investment proposals under this initiative," he said.

Muhith said this while addressing as the chief guest a contract signing ceremony between PPP Authority and 14 banks and financial institutions, reports BSS.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PPP Authority Syed Afsar H Uddin and Managing Directors of the 14 banks and financial institutions signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides.

Mentioning the country`s present economic position as potential, Muhith said the global community is appreciating the present government`s programmes to develop Bangladesh gradually up to the desired level.

Under the agreement, 14 banks and financial institutions will provide financial support to the PPP Authority for implementing various projects.

Among others, Prime Minister`s Principal Secretary M Abul Kalam Azad, Bank and Financial Institution Division Secretary M Eunusur Rahman and Association of Bankers, Bangladesh Chairman Anis A Khan were present on the occasion.
