Tk 15b came from mobile companies in FY16: Palak

Bangladesh has earned Tk 15.07 in the previous fiscal. Out of it the country earned Tk 11.38 billion as revenue sharing, Tk 405 million as license fee and Tk 3.28 billion as spectrum charge from different mobile companies previous the financial year 2015-16, said State Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak.


Palak said this on behalf of State Minister of the Post and Telecommunications Division Tarana Halim while replying to a starred question from a treasury bench member M Golam Rabbani in the parliament on Sunday, reports BSS.

The government has earned Tk 13.7 billion in FY15. Out of it government earned Tk 10.16 billion as revenue sharing, Tk 405 million as license fee and Tk 3.13 billion as spectrum charge from different mobile companies in the financial year 2014-15, he said.

Palak said till date the government has dues of Tk 16.11 billion with Teletalk Bangladesh Company and Tk 4.84 billion with Pacific Telecom Limited (Citycell).

As Teletalk is a state-run company the government has the jurisdiction to adjust the dues as paid up capital.
