US Ambassador in Dhaka Stephens Bloom Marcia Bernicat has dropped a hint that the existing relations between Bangladesh and United States of America will not be affected by change of government following the upcoming US elections.
The envoy while mentioning the US government’s support for Bangladesh`s socio-economic development said that the US investment in Bangladesh would be further enhanced in future.
"The US election results won`t affect the existing US-Bangladesh ties as our foreign policy would remain intact for Bangladesh," the US Ambassador said on Monday.
Rather, she hoped, the existing bilateral relations between the two countries would be further expanded in the coming days.
Bernicat made the remarks after a meeting with Awami League’s General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader at Dhaka’s "Setu Bhaban".
During the meeting, Bernicat talked about different issues covering contemporary politics and development of democratic environment, sources said.
The US ambassador met Quader to greet him on his election as General Secretary of ruling party recently, according to BSS.
