Walton Plaza gets highest VAT payer award at national level

Walton Plaza has received the highest VAT payer award. National Board of Revenue (NBR) awarded Walton Plaza as the highest VAT (Value Added Tax) payer at the national level for the fiscal year 2020-21. Walton Plaza under the jurisdiction of Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate, Dhaka North received the award of highest VAT payer in the business sector category.

Along with Walton Plaza, total of nine businesses at the national level and 120 enterprises at the district level were honored with the best VAT payer award at the program of `National VAT Day` held at a five-star hotel in the capital on Saturday (December 10).

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal attended the function as the chief guest while FBCCI President Md. Jasim Uddin also present as special guest. NBR Chairman Abu Hena Md. Rahmatul Munim presided over the function. Among others, NBR VAT Department`s Members Zakia Sultana and Md. Sahidul Islam were also present.

At the event, Walton Plaza`s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mohammad Rayhan received the highest VAT payer crest and certificate from Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal.

Every year, NBR award the highest VAT paying companies to encourage them. Walton Plaza has been awarded as the highest VAT payer either at the national or at district level every year.

While expressing his reaction on receiving the highest VAT payer award, Walton Plaza CEO Mohammad Rayhan said, Walton Plaza has been operating its business complying with all the rules and regulations of the country. The company is making a significant contribution to the national GDP (Gross Domestic Product) by paying VAT properly. As the recognition, NBR has honored Walton Plaza with the highest VAT payer award. This recognition and awards will encourage and motivate us. It has also raised our responsibility towards the country. Our utmost efforts to contribute to the economic progress of Bangladesh will be continued.
